If ads are not showing on your site after you've added the AdSense ad code, please first try clearing your browser cache and deleting your cookies before trying to access your site again.
There are a few common reasons why ads may not display on your website after correctly adding the AdSense code to your webpages.
Computer and browser settings
Is JavaScript enabled in your browser?
Ensure that you have JavaScript enabled in your browser -- you won't see ads without it! If you're having trouble seeing the ads, please also check for any conflicting JavaScript on your site that might prevent ads from showing.
Do you have personal firewall software with an ad blocking feature or any other ad blocking software installed?
Personal firewall software or ad blocking software can prevent Google ads from displaying or obscure portions of the ad. Any ad blocking features of your internet security software must be disabled in order to view Google ads.
Ads implementation issues
Are you using an HTML editor?
If you're using a "WYSIWYG" HTML editor like Adobe Dreamweaver or Microsoft FrontPage, you may see errors if you paste your ad code into a WYSIWYG view like the "Design" or "Layout" view. Make sure you followed the instructions in Paste the code correctly. Also, check for any additional tags or changes in the linebreaks the editor might've added.
Are you using a content management system (CMS)?
If you have trouble implementing AdSense with a specific content management system, we recommend searching for the name of the CMS (eg. Drupal, WordPress) and 'AdSense implementation'. You can also ask in the forum if other publishers have mastered similar problems, or contact your CMS support directly.
Does the code on your page match the code in your account?
Make sure to copy the code exactly as it appears in your account, and paste it within the BODY tags of your HTML code. Be sure not to make any changes to the linebreaks of the code (such as pasting the code all in one line); extra linebreaks can mess up the code and prevent ads from showing entirely.
Did you just add the code to that page?
Relevant ads should appear on your pages shortly after you add the code, but sometimes it can take up to 48 hours for ads to show. This is because our crawlerhas to visit your page and determine its content so we can serve targeted ads.
Are the ads inside nested frames?
While you can choose where to position your ads on your pages, be sure to avoid embedding the ad code in excessive div tags or nested frames. Depending on your browser settings, implementing your ad code in this way might prevent ads from appearing correctly.
Is your page dynamically generated?
If you'd like to implement AdSense ads on a dynamically generated site -- for example, a site with session IDs or pages behind a login -- you should take a look at this Help Center entry for more information on how to receive targeted ads.
Do you have too many ad units on your site?
Our policies permit publishers to place the following number of ads on a webpage:
- Up to three ad units
- Up to three link units
- Up to two search boxes
If you've placed more than the permitted number of ads on a webpage, ads will only show in the allowed number of ad units.
Are you using the right ad size?
If you use an inappropriate ad format, your site's layout can be affected. In the example below, you can see that a square or skyscraper format will push the content of this page down.
Content and policy-related issues
Have you previously applied for the AdSense program and your site was disapproved?
If your site was previously disapproved for AdSense, our servers were instructed to not display ads on your site. If that site (or another site associated with the same account) is later approved, it may take up to 48 hours before our servers are updated and ads begin appearing on your site.
Has the ad code been placed on pages with potentially adult or mature content?
If ads are appearing on certain pages on your site but not on others, please ensure that the code has not been placed on pages with adult or mature content. We currently do not run Google ads on webpages that our automatic contextual advertising system has determined contain potentially mature or adult content.
Has your site previously violated an AdSense policy?
Ad serving may have been disabled to your site because it wasn't compliant with ourprogram policies. If this happened, a notification was sent to your AdSense login email or your contact email if you've specified another one.
Was your account found to pose a risk to advertisers or generate invalid clicks?
If it was determined that your account posed a threat to advertisers or generated invalid activity, your account may have been disabled and you may no longer see ads on your websites. If this happened, a notification was sent to your AdSense login email or your contact email if you've specified another one.
