Quickly Set an Egg Timer in your Browser

06:12
Timers are useful for all manner of things, but you may not always have a handy portable timer with you. E.ggTimer is a dead simple web-based count down timer that you'll (almost) never be without.

You use plain English to tell E.ggTimer what window of time you need counted down. The time variable is plugged right into the URL—if you need a 20 minute countdown you use the URL

E.ggTimer is a simple but innovative web tool that lets you create an online timer via an easy-to-remember URL.

For instance, the web address shown in the screenshot image will set a new timer in your browser to beep after 59 seconds.

To create a timer, type http://e.ggtimer.com in the address bar and append the time in plain English. Example usage:
20 seconds – e.ggtimer.com/20
10 minutes – e.ggtimer.com/10minutes
2 hour, 24 minutes, 15 seconds – e.ggtimer.com/2hour24minutes15seconds

The tool will also make a sound when the countdown is over so you can easily have the timer tab running in the background while you continue to work on other tasks.
